ridge table is a very personal project born from my frustration with clutter. the ridges, in addition to being an interesting aesthetic element, forces the user to use coasters that slot into the ridges. this constraint, while hostile, keeps the surface of the coffee table free of excess clutter, limited to just the amount of coasters available. the body of the table is constructed with scrap pile madrone, which, while beautiful in color, is highly prone to warping. the controlled, uniform design of the table is contrasted by the untamable nature of the madrone, embracing and highlighting the idea of using every bit of material available to use in a resource-scarce world.
